These baskets are crafted by two women in a remote village of Klungkung, East Bali. It’s an incredible story – the women speak only Balinese, they’ve been weaving since they were teenagers, and it is their main source of income. With the onset of Covid, they’ve been struggling to sell their baskets. Thanks to a friend of Bali Direct who is kindly sourcing for us, we now have a regular supply of these wonder baskets, and the women weavers of Klungkung have an income to support themselves.
