Why plant-based? Plant-based chocolate uses less resources, less water, less land and less energy while also supporting animal welfare. This means protecting our planet while also protecting our health. Plant-based also means supporting local farmers. By moving from dairy to plant-based we’re directly supporting Indonesian cashew and coconut farmers instead of importing milk powder from overseas. And best of all our plant-based chocolate is delicious and vegan friendly!

Pod Chocolate is the world’s first fully plant-based chocolate factory located in Mengwi, Bali about halfway to Bedugul. We started making chocolate in 2010 with the goal of producing premium, direct trade artisanal chocolate where the cacao is grown. Over the past decade, we’ve grown from a small thatch-roofed hut to a world-class factory with modern European machinery and international food safety management systems producing some of the best chocolate in the world. Our factory is open to the public and supports local farmers and communities from across Bali and Indonesia. All our chocolate is fully plant-based and vegan friendly.
