Yerba Mate is is a native tree of the Paranaense forest of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. In the wild, it reaches a height of between 12 and 16 meters and there are yerbales up to 100 years old in some jesuit reduction. To facilitated harvesting, the plants are pruned up to 2 times a year to a height of 2 maters on average.

How to prepare : add 3g yerba mate in a French press, infuser bottle or tea pot. Add 250ml of hot water, wait for 3-5 minutes and serve. the longer the wait, the stronger the flavor. Optional, add sugar, honey or milk to your taste.

How to prepare traditional Mate : fill 3/4 of the cup with yerba mate. cover the cup with your hand and shake it upside-down. place yerba mate in the cup  at 45° and add a bit of warm water. place the straw on the bottom side of the cup (do not stir). add hot water 75°C, and refill as many time as needed until all flavor is gone.
