Gado Gado ( Indonesian Salad ) Recipe

Gado-Gado Indonesian Salad on wood plate and banana leaves

This type of mixed vegetable dish smothered in peanut sauce is so famous. Gado-Gado is sold in almost all corners of Bali. From restaurants to small stalls providing gado-gado as a popular folk meal. In fact, there are also many foreigners who like this Betawi cuisine. They call the gado-gado as Indonesian Salad. It usually consists of a variety of vegetables, eggs, tempeh, and tofu. The vegetables are usually just slightly boiled, tossed with a nut completed with the addition of crispy prawn crackers.

Ingredients

  1. Cabbage – steamed
  2. Spinach – steamed
  3. Bean sprouts – steamed
  4. Green beans – steamed
  5. Lettuce
  6. Cucumber
  7. Cherry tomatoes
  8. Potato – steamed
  9. Tempeh & Tofu
  10. 1-2 boiled eggs
  11. 2 tablespoon peanut sauce

 

Method

  1. Steam all vegetables except lettuce, cucumber, and tomato.
  2. Spray a non-stick pan, lightly fry the tofu & tempeh
  3. Mix all vegetables, tofu, tempeh, and egg, top with peanut sauce.
  4. Ready to serve.
